Wall Street Journal: Housing Recovery Picks Up Steam | Simplifying The Market

One rainy night many years ago, an elderly gentleman and his wife entered the lobby of a small hotel in Philadelphia. The man asked the clerk if he had any rooms.

The clerk was a friendly man who prided himself on superior customer service. He said that unfortunately the hotel was completely booked. “However,” he said, “rather than send you out in the rain at one o'clock in the morning, I would be happy to offer you my room. It’s not a suite, but it will be comfortable for the night.”

The elderly man tried to object, but the clerk insisted. The next morning, as he paid his bill, the elderly gentleman said to the clerk: “You are the kind of manager who should be the boss of the best hotel in the United States.”

Two years passed. One day the

Today we are going to talk about 'Making More Money' by getting your home 'Market-Ready' and how it helped my Cleveland Park seller make an extra $400,000!

Initially, things were a bit chaotic. It was the holidays and the seller was packing to move, so we decided to quietly market the property 'Under the Radar' to over 20,000 neighbors.

About eight people took a look at the house and we got an offer of $1.1 million. The seller turned it down, finished packing and moved out.

Our seller got $400,000 more once the home was market-ready!

Then, the owner touched up the paint and redid the kitchen cabinets. My stager worked her magic
